Who is responsible

What the form collects

The contact form asks for a name, an email address, a subject and a message, plus your consent. Only the email address is needed to reply. Anything else you type into the message field is data you have chosen to give us.

Why, and on what basis

We use what you send to read your message and answer it, and to check or correct an entry when your message concerns one. The legal basis is your consent for the form, and our legitimate interest in maintaining an accurate editorial guide.

How long it is kept

Messages are kept while the exchange is open and for a limited period afterwards, so that a correction can be traced to its source. Messages that lead to no correction are deleted once answered. You may ask for deletion at any time.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard technical data: IP address, request, time of request, response code, referrer and user agent. These logs exist for security and for keeping the site running, are kept briefly, and are not used to build any profile of a reader.

No tracking

This site runs no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising tags and no third-party cookies. It sets no cookies of its own. It contains no JavaScript at all: there is no script on any page and no script file on the server. Web fonts are requested from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts that service; nothing else is loaded from anywhere else.

Hosting and processors

The site is hosted by a provider acting as our processor under a data processing agreement. Mail sent to the editorial address is handled by our email provider on the same basis. We share your data with nobody else, and we sell it to nobody.

International transfers

Where a processor stores data outside your region, the transfer relies on the appropriate safeguards under applicable data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses. Details are available from editorial@modernriverpoint.com.

Your rights

You may ask for access to your data, correction, deletion or restriction; you may object to processing, ask for a copy in a portable form, and withdraw consent at any time, which does not affect processing already carried out. Write to editorial@modernriverpoint.com and we will answer within the period set by applicable law.

Complaints

If you believe your data has been handled wrongly, you may complain to the data protection supervisory authority where you live or work, whatever country that is.
