Plain terms for a site that publishes descriptions and nothing else.

What this service is

modernriverpoint is an editorial guide describing seventeen hotels. Using the site means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Not a travel agent

We are not a travel agency, a tour operator or a booking intermediary. We accept no reservations, hold no availability and forward no enquiries. Any arrangement you make is made directly with the hotel or with a provider of your own choosing, on their terms.

Sources and accuracy

Entries are written from published material, re-read by hand, with the month of that reading printed at the end of each entry. Hotels change owners, names, buildings and seasons. We give no warranty that any description is current, complete or free of error, and you should confirm anything that matters with the hotel itself.

No times and no schedules

This site deliberately publishes no opening hours, no arrival or departure times and no timetables. Nothing here may be relied on as a schedule.

No advice

Nothing on this site is advice to buy, book or travel. Decisions taken after reading it are yours.

We correct factual errors. Send the correction and, where possible, the source; a hotel writing about its own entry is treated as a primary source. Corrections are made in the entry itself, and the reading month is updated when we re-read.

Law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes fall to the courts of England and Wales, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.

The Casino Hotels section

The Casino Hotels section describes buildings, guest rooms, restaurants and concert halls. It does not promote gambling, describe gaming floors or link to operators, and we receive no commission from anyone. Casinos are for adults only: in Canada the minimum age is 19 in most provinces and 18 in Québec.
